About Course

GD&T is an international language that is used on engineering drawings to accurately discrete a part. The GD&T language consist of a well-defined set of symbols, rules, definitions and conventions. GD&T is a precise mathematical language that can be used to describe the size, form, orientation and location of a part feature. It is also a design philosophy on how to design and dimension a part.

Dear Participant,
Thank you for participating in our Fundamentals Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (FGD&T) training program.
GD&T is a complex and exciting subject, one cannot learn to apply GD&T by simply studying the definitions and examples given in the text books. And thus, the main aim of this training program is to introduce you to the concepts of GD&T in a more simplified way.
As design professional, understanding its principles and application approaches can be rewarding and profitable. In this program, we have done everything possible to assist you with adequate knowledge about the subject, necessary to develop your design skills.
We hope this training will elevate your design skill and transform your career life.
Let us Learn and Grow Together.

What Will You Learn?

  • Fundamentals of GD&T: Understand the core principles and terminology of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • GD&T Symbols and Rules: Learn to interpret and apply GD&T symbols, including datums, tolerances, and feature control frames.
  • Form and Orientation Tolerances: Gain expertise in controlling the form (flatness, straightness) and orientation (parallelism, perpendicularity) of part features.
  • Positional Tolerancing: Master the techniques for specifying the precise location of features using position, concentricity, and symmetry tolerances.
  • Datum Reference Frames: Learn how to establish and use datum reference frames to anchor the geometry of parts accurately.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Develop the ability to perform tolerance analysis to ensure parts fit and function correctly in assemblies.
  • Practical Applications: Apply GD&T principles to real-world scenarios, improving product design, manufacturing efficiency, and quality control.
  • Industry Standards: Familiarize yourself with GD&T standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101, ensuring compliance with industry practices.
